Turkuaz Beach Hotel

Turkuaz Beach Hotel is right on the seafront, and we had a second-floor room facing the water. We stopped in Akcakoka in January on a weekend while traveling from Istanbul to Amasra, during the covid curfew, so not much was open in the small seaside town. Since it was off season, finding street parking outside the hotel was easy. Check-in went fairly smoothly. The staff spoke very little English, but Google translate helped us get by. A young chap at reception took us to the room and showed us the TV and heating. There was a small elevator. The room was plain, with one double bed and one single. The bathroom was small but efficient, with a good shower head and water pressure. There was no bar fridge or tea and coffee maker. Breakfast was fantastic: a traditional turkish spread with cheeses, meats, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, breads, tahini, honey, molasses, jams, and hazelnut spread, plus big mugs of strong turkish coffee. The dining room looks out over the sea on one side and the swimming pool on the other. The hotel offers dinner, but we walked down the road and got takeout pizza instead. There was construction around the hotel during our visit, with rubble piles, stacks of wood, and tarps making it look messy. I'm sure it looks much better in summer. A decent stop on a trip along the Black Sea. Safe travels.

The room was tidy and clean, though it got very hot inside during winter. The rooms are clean, the service is great, and the staff are friendly. It's right on the beach with a great view. For a 3 star hotel, it deserves a 5 star review. Highly recommend.

It's a nice hotel right by the beach, but the service feels completely unprofessional. There are plenty of people around, yet it seems like only one person is doing any work. Don't eat at their restaurant, it's overpriced and the service is bad.

The place was old, not clean, and smelled bad. My room was full of cigarette smoke. I had a 2 day reservation, but cancelled and got no refund because of the smell.
