Ankakyaka Apart Hotel

When we arrived, we were shown a windowless, airless space under a staircase, like a former laundry or storage closet. It barely fit a double bed and looked nothing like the Hotels.com photos. They presented it as our room with a fake smile. No reasonable person would consider it fit for guests. We immediately said we couldn't stay and offered to pay the difference for another room. They claimed none were available, despite the “Vacancy” sign still outside. We asked to cancel and were told, “Cancel through the site and we’ll approve it.” We did, but the owner then shamelessly claimed, “You used the room today,” although we had only spent 5 minutes looking at it before deciding to leave. We found another place right next door and stayed there. We had booked through Hotels.com for July 7-10, 2025. Before completing the reservation, we contacted the property directly through acquaintances who had recently stayed there. The owner strongly urged us to book quickly, calling it a special discounted rate we shouldn't miss, so we went ahead. This place doesn't meet basic standards of safety, hygiene, or decency for guest accommodation. Trying to sell that space as a hotel room was unethical and outrageous. We demand a full refund and are ready to take the matter to consumer rights platforms, government complaint systems like CİMER (the Presidential Communication Center in Turkey), and review websites. Akyaka has dozens of respectable hotels and apartments, so this should be your absolute last choice. We hope reviews like this help bring these exploitative practices to an end.

I had a good experience with the room. It's a five-minute walk to the center, where there are restaurants, shops, banks, and department stores. The natural views from outside the building are amazing. I'm a motovlogger who travels around Turkey, and I'll be releasing a room tour of this hotel soon. For me, this was a clean, pleasant place to sleep, and I'd like to stay at AnkAkyaka again someday. The minimalistic rooms suited my needs perfectly, though there were different options, from small double rooms to larger rooms with a double bed, kitchen, and balcony. The staff and I got along really well even though we didn't speak the same language. I appreciated the warm morning smile when passing someone after getting up. Having a kitchen meant I could use the local fish-market. The owner and his son were very kind, respectful, and helpful. I'm a simple person who doesn't need much, but even so, AnkAkyaka offers great value for the money. I'm looking forward to another visit. Room 212 could use a better scent, but that's a minor issue, not a major one. Greetings and all the best from ceto and ... me : )

A short stay, but a really great experience. The staff were caring, the atmosphere cosy, and it's pet friendly.
