Astor Beach

We visited in 2019 and had a holiday that felt like a nightmare. The hotel was the worst place we've ever visited, and we won't return. Don't choose it. The rooms were old and poorly maintained, there wasn't enough cutlery, and in the morning they served bread from the day before. Loud music played from morning until evening. The conditions, food, and service were horrible.

The rooms were filthy, and the balcony was rotting and seemed dangerous. Food was horrible, even though I don't expect much and eat everything. Sometimes there wasn't even bread at breakfast. You had to be quick at dinner or there'd be nothing, and honestly it may be better to eat out every day. Snacks were handed out one per person, and your drink glass was only half filled. The children's beds weren't there when we arrived. We asked, but nothing came, and after three days they gave us two mattresses. The pool turned green after a few days, and the bar shut for a while in the afternoon. On many days, bars closed 5 or 10 minutes before all-inclusive service was meant to end. The animation was especially aimed at Russian people. There was no service, and the quality was horrible. Please believe me, don't go here. It will be a nightmare you won't forget, and this isn't how a holiday in Turkey should be. If you made the mistake of coming, try the blue hawaii restaurant. The food and people there are great, and they can help you enjoy the holiday.

The website says WiFi is complimentary, but we had to pay for it. Staff either couldn't or wouldn't speak English, and there was no British flag outside the hotel. The staff member who helped with our bags waved his hands in our face for a tip, which was incredibly rude. During our four days there, we had no air conditioning. The rooms were disgusting, the beds weren't changed, and the food looked inedible. They ran out of beer, coke, and plates. We spent hundreds of pounds on food and a new hotel. When we went straight to the holiday company, they said the manager claimed we were causing trouble, partying and having sex all night 😂😂. We were on a family holiday in a double room, for goodness' sake! The first few days of our holiday were ruined by this place. Without staff at a local bar recommending a new hotel, the whole trip would've been rubbish. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!

The room problems were bad enough: the air conditioning only ran from 11 pm to 4 am, and for two nights we had no bed, despite paying for an extra twin. Staff eventually shoved in an old sofa with broken springs, so I slept on an inflatable lilo. The place was filthy, the food inedible, and the drinks ran out at the same time each day. Only a little gin, vodka, and watered-down raki remained, and the bar shut at 10:30, not 11. Staff were rude and aggressive, and nobody seemed to speak even a little English. Everything, including the signs, prices, menus, and food, was in Russian, with no English translations. It felt like a Russian resort, and I don't think it should be sold to English holidaymakers. The pictures are misleading, too. Compare them with mine. I'm a fan of Turkey and have enjoyed my other stays there, but here I cried every day until I got home. I've never complained about a holiday or accommodation before, and I usually see the good in things. This was awful. Two other English guests staying in different hotels had the same or worse experience. Please don't book this resort, especially Astro Beach. I don't want to get upset writing any more.
