Kleopatra Icaria Hotel

Noise made it almost impossible to sleep. We managed only from about 05.00 until 07.30 or 08.00, if we were lucky, and you could hear people talking at reception through the large gaps around the doors. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the TV channels would play for a few minutes before cutting out. The backyard and pool were closed for the off season. A group of Turkish men spent every day talking and playing cards in the reception and bar area. That's fine, but staff seemed more focused on socializing with them than helping guests. The building is old and badly worn. The so-called renovation amounted to fresh paint on a few walls and a couple of less battered sofas. My room was dirty, missing some of its furniture, and in poor shape. The shower was especially frustrating: trying to find a comfortable temperature could take 40 minutes, with the water swinging from freezing to boiling and nothing in between. The photos are edited and misleading, and it seemed to me that the hotel changes its name from time to time, perhaps to distance itself from negative reviews. Search for the hotel name and Coral app. hotel, and check Google Maps reviews too. I have nothing positive to say. It felt like a 1 star place claiming to be a 3 or 4 star resort.

We left seven days early and paid extra to get away from this place. The rooms were dirty, unsafe, and falling apart. The towels had stains, the water wasn't drinkable, and the showerhead fell on us. Staff barely spoke English and didn't seem to care when we raised problems. The pictures looked completely fake, almost AI-generated. Booking.com should take this listing down. Don't be fooled, stay away.

The pool area was small but pleasant, though that was about the only good part. The pictures make the place look fresh and bright, but that isn't what we found. The stairs, floors, towels, kitchen, and shower were all dirty. Our air conditioning stopped working whenever we were out, so the room got very hot. The walls and doors were thin enough that we heard people talking and playing music. There was also a strange door in the middle of the room covered with thin black, soft material. When our neighbor played Turkish music in the evening, it sounded like he was right beside us. The staff weren't helpful. They didn't communicate with each other, so a promise or request made one day was forgotten by the new person at the lobby the next. Don't trust the pictures, the real place doesn't match them.

The staff were friendly, though they responded to requests rather slowly. Water was another problem: the pressure and temperature were unpredictable, so there was no assurance of a decent shower. The kitchenette was very basic, and the fridge was the only appliance that worked as expected. The apartment was in very poor condition. The shower had been renewed recently, but that didn't improve the general impression. We arrived to find holes in the bedding and towels. When I asked for replacements, staff said they had trouble with the laundry provider and were fully occupied. That wasn't an excuse. Cleaning was extremely basic and below an acceptable level, although there were no cockroaches or fungus. Don't trust the supplied photos. They seem to be from when the hotel was new, or from the last decade. I can't recommend these hotel apartments unless they cost no more than 10 per day.
