Okan Tower Apart Hotel

We left within an hour and never used the room, but lost the 3,300 TRY we had paid. We found another hotel for half the price, and it was modern and clean. This was one of my worst hotel experiences, and I would strongly advise people to avoid Okan Tower Apart Hotel. We'd booked through Check24 after seeing the high reviews, attractive photos, and scores of 8/10 overall and 9/10 for the elevator. The actual place was nothing like the pictures. We were traveling with friends from Germany and the UK. At reception, staff spoke only Turkish, not English or German. The elderly receptionist was polite, but we could barely communicate. The lobby was very hot, and the small elevator was hot and claustrophobic. The hallways looked neglected and dated. Our room for three was a huge disappointment. The furniture was extremely old, worse than a budget hostel. The living room sofa had cigarette burns and a cigarette butt inside. There was no air conditioning in that room, and the bedroom had one old unit that rattled loudly. The bathroom needed renovation, with a yellowed tub and a toilet flush that kept running. The beds were unstable, old, and uncomfortable. The kitchen and cabinets were worn, and the TV looked decades old. It didn't feel remotely like a two-star hotel, much less the place shown online. I called a local female friend to speak Turkish for us. We politely asked for a bigger, cleaner, better-equipped room and offered to pay more for two double rooms or a proper four-bed room. A staff member who seemed to supervise things said this was their standard room and all they had. When we showed him the booking photos, he admitted they were taken ten years ago. My friend offered to come upstairs to help me bring down our luggage, but the staff refused and said she had to stay in the lobby while I went alone. The way they handled it felt rude, unwelcoming, and very unprofessional.
