Sette Serenity Hotel

The beach is only a few minutes away, and we really liked the location. We stayed for nine days in May and found the hotel beautiful and clean. Our room was small but cozy, with everything we needed, and there was enough variety in the food for different tastes. The staff were lovely and helpful. A big thank you to Talhan at reception for all his advice and support. We hope to come back. See you soon!

Jakub, the African grey parrot in reception, was such a character. He whistled and even danced a little when you stopped to say hello, and became a highlight every time we walked through. We also met some lovely people, and nearby Solsiden Sports Bar is a good spot for pizza and watching several football games on their screens. My friend and I came to Sette Serenity Hotel in Alanya for a relaxed girls’ break in February, outside the season. The atmosphere was still lovely and calm, and I imagine it gets much livelier in peak season. Our room was fantastic and very clean, with a nice beach view. The beach is just a couple of minutes away on foot. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and their hospitality made the stay even better. The food selection was good overall, with vegetarian options like pasta, grilled vegetables, chips and plenty of salads. I would have liked more variety, as it felt quite heavy on carbs, though I understand the menu may be simpler out of season. We also had a wonderful, relaxing hamam at the hotel, which I’d recommend. We had a great stay and would happily return to Sette Serenity Hotel.

I’d give this place 2.5 stars. It falls short of what I’d expect from a hotel advertised as four stars. If you mainly want a cheap base for exploring and don’t care much about the standard, it could work. For a typical all-inclusive holiday, I wouldn’t recommend it. The location is good, near the beach and promenade. You can walk to the city center in 45 minutes or take bus 101 in about 10 minutes, and you can pay by card. The food and alcohol were good quality, staff were friendly, especially the bartenders, and the rooms were a reasonable size. The biggest issue was the food service. There was very little choice, just eight buffet trays, some salad, fruit and a few cakes. Food often ran out and was replenished slowly, or not at all. On one occasion three of the eight trays were empty, including rice and fries. Teaspoons and forks were also often missing. The buffet trays didn’t keep food warm, so it was hard to find anything hot. None of the dishes were labeled, and the evening soup was almost always the same average tomato soup served at lunch. Serving hours were short: breakfast 8:00-10:00, lunch 12:00-13:30, dinner 18:00-20:00, with alcohol available 11:00-23:00. The hotel and rooms were very dirty, with dust and stains that weren’t cleaned during our stay, and stained bed linen. The rooms were worn out too. Our toilet flush was broken and the sink drain clogged; I reported both to reception, but neither was fixed. The walls were so thin we could hear the neighbors waking up and talking. Calls to prayer from the mosque next door began as early as 5:30 am and woke us. There was no entertainment, not even music in the evening. Staff wore their own clothes, and waiters in jackets or hoodies looked unprofessional.

Our all-inclusive holiday at sette serenity alanya was awful, and I have allergies. There were no signs showing allergens, and after we raised this with the staff and manager, nothing had changed by day three. We spoke to staff several times, but they were unwilling to help or assist with making the hotel compliant. We took photos of the issue. By the evening of the third day I couldn’t afford to keep going hungry or eating only a limited selection. I was getting physically and mentally unwell. After a confrontation with the manager, who told me to “prove my allergy” and said “I’m all talk,” we decided to leave early. When I approached him about leaving, he said something bad would happen to us if we left a bad review. We have a recording of that.
