Utopia Resort & Residence

I can’t recommend this hotel and won’t come back. That 4.8 rating feels like it must be bought or bots. The women working there were kind and caring, and the man at the shisha bar was very friendly. Most of the other staff came across as arrogant and unwelcoming. They got annoyed even when we asked for a simple Pepsi. They seemed to treat Russian guests nicely but were unfriendly to others. Their angry, unfriendly looks made us uncomfortable. The food in the cafeteria was always cold, and the meat was very dry whenever we went. They also wouldn’t let my child eat unless a parent sat right next to them, which I found absurd. We left 15€ in coins on a shelf while we went shopping. When we returned, the room had been cleaned and the money was gone. Staff told me to come back the next day, then said there was nothing they could do. It was a very bad experience.

The location is excellent, and the animation staff made it even more fun for my sister and me. They’re welcoming and include people of every age. There’s something on each day, from games and activities to evening shows, so we never got bored. They work hard to keep the atmosphere lively. A nice choice for relaxation with plenty of entertainment :)

We came as three families, and every family had problems. Our parents stayed here three years ago and said it had been much better. I wouldn’t trust the 4.8 Google rating. Look at how many five-star reviews are from accounts with only one or two reviews; it seems clearly manipulated. The rooms were dated and poorly maintained. One family had such a bad smell they had to change rooms, our phone didn’t work, and nightly DJ parties from 22:30 to 00:00 made sleep impossible in buildings 1 and 2. Rooms are tiny, with very little storage, and the thin balcony doors let the noise through. Towels were old, grey, and often missing. Our room was clearly meant for two, but they squeezed in another bed for our teenager. There was no room to move or store things, not even one drawer, so every surface ended up covered with toiletries, cosmetics, electronics, chargers, and other things. Restaurant service was almost nonexistent, with dirty plates left on tables for ages. The food was basic and the fish inedible. Around 90% of the meat was chicken, turkey, or liver, with hardly any beef or lamb. Breakfast omelets meant massive queues. The animation was barely noticeable, which wasn’t such a bad thing. The tennis court had a sagging net and useless equipment. The badminton rackets were broken and never fixed despite complaints. It’s a very mediocre hotel living off fake reviews and an old reputation. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere better, there are plenty of options nearby.

I’m happy I spent a full week here, though I’m sad to leave today. It was my first visit, and I’d highly recommend it. The place is lovely, and the staff were service minded, especially the entertainment team. We had a spacious family room, cleaned every day. The food was delicious, with lots of choices and daily variety, Turkish and Mediterranean style. The waiters spoke Russian and Turkish, and understood English well. Most evenings the entertainment staff put on well-organized events with real enthusiasm.
