Garden Of Sun Hotel Didim

The pool is huge and quite nice, though a little chilly. That's the one good thing I can say. This definitely isn't a five-star hotel, and I would never go back. The food was often undercooked, both in the restaurant and at the outdoor BBQ. My partner and I got ill, as did many other guests we spoke with. It also seemed like yesterday's leftovers were chopped up and served again. The loungers were dirty, and most padded covers were stained and smelled unwashed. Our room was so-so, the shower needed redecorating, and the water drained badly. The thin cotton sheet on the double bed was too small for two people. Most of the staff looked miserable, like they didn't want to be there.

The one person who made our holiday a little brighter was Mr. Yasin, the bar manager. He was kind, friendly, and helpful, and made the best cocktails. Thanks to him, we managed to smile a bit. The hotel doesn't meet five-star standards. Our room was dirty on arrival and stayed that way, and we had to keep asking for toilet paper. The old rooms badly need renovation. The bathroom smelled of sewage, had mold and limescale everywhere, and the toilet couldn't be used. Water from the air conditioning leaked onto the bed. Dirty dishes sat in the corridors for ages. Meals were cold, tasteless, and repetitive. Tables weren't properly cleaned, even after dishes were cleared. The promised variety wasn't there, and despite paying for all-inclusive, we had to eat out every day and spend extra money. Around the pool, sunbeds and covers were filthy, tables and cups weren't cleaned, and broken glass was left where barefoot guests walked. Staff were unfriendly, didn't resolve several problems we reported, and pressured guests to leave positive reviews. Avoid this place. It's a survival school, and I wouldn't trust the positive reviews.

Food and drinks were the best part, with plenty to eat and drink, and the pool and theatre games started at 10 PM. Beyond that, it felt like a three-star hotel. The rooms were filthy, and towels weren't changed every day. On TripAdvisor and Google, the team pressured guests to leave good reviews. I booked through Love Holidays thinking it was a five-star hotel, since the photos and description looked all right. The welcome didn't match that expectation either: nobody greeted us, took our luggage, or offered help when we arrived. The hotel needs serious improvements soon. Other travelers felt the same way, and I was disappointed.

The pool was the one good feature, with lots of sun loungers, and the location was good too. But there was no lifeguard, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. The rooms are dated and there have been cockroaches. We paid for a sea view but were put in a first-floor room with a balcony barely big enough to stand on. The staff couldn't give us a key to our room when we arrived, and it wasn't even the room we'd paid for. The food was disgusting, repetitive, and covered in flies. Many guests were sick and ended up on drips. We didn't eat at the hotel at all. Housekeeping was hit or miss, sometimes the cleaners came, sometimes they didn't.
