Bedesten Hotel

The rooms were very dirty, and the lights didn’t work. There was just one outlet, and the facilities weren’t great to begin with. I’d booked an economy room and was surprised to find it had no window. I managed to change rooms, though it cost me 500 lira extra. The location is convenient since this is a small town and everything is nearby. Breakfast was the highlight: it was included in the price, had a fantastic view, and was a buffet with olives, pastries, salami, cheese, jam, eggs, cakes, and lots more. I stayed two days after booking only two days ahead, so for that price it was okay.

There’s no parking at the hotel. The closest paid lot is about a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast was a very nice buffet with a great view, and the beach is right next door. The place looks like it may have been quite good once, but it’s been neglected. Our room was grimy, and the old linoleum made us not want to put our feet down. The bathroom was especially disgusting, with mold in the shower. The broad, nicely laid-out halls and stairs were dark, giving the whole place the feel of an abandoned building. With a major update, or at least more cleaning and upkeep, it could be quite decent.

The room was terribly damp and needs repair, perhaps because of a ventilation problem. Still, the location was great, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were really friendly.

Nice location. Breakfast is served on the top floor, with a great view.
