I got great value for the price, especially with the discount, and the place feels like a top-notch three-star stay. It’s a beautifully restored old house, with free parking and Wi-Fi, though the internet wasn’t very good. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were genuinely friendly, always greeting me with a smile in Turkish. It’s right by the river, and crossing the bridge gets you to the old town and the entrance to the rock-cut tombs in the mountain. I’d suggest going to the tombs around 8-8:30 AM for sunrise over the city, mountains, and tombs. The bridge is a lovely place to catch the river sunset around 5-6 PM. My room was a little small but had what I needed. It was very clean, with charming old wooden windows that lift up to open. The views took in the river, Ottoman houses, and more. Breakfast came as an individual fixed menu, with just about everything I wanted and very good quality. The location seems to me like the best in the city. Even though it’s beside the street, I didn’t find it noisy. The call to prayer can be heard five times a day, as part of local culture. The muezzin’s voice is pleasant, but the early one, around 5 AM, can be loud with the powerful speakers in this mountainous area, so it may bother light sleepers. That’s personal, of course.

The room, food, and location were all soooo good. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place.

I was there for just one night in 2023. I hadn't realized then that Amasya was such a nice place to visit and stay. I booked through Expedia, since the hotel wasn't on Booking that year, and it was affordable at the time. The location is ideal, close to lots of things, including tourist spots. My room was great and had everything, including a fridge and TV. The staff experience was less good, though not because of the language. I remember breakfast being included, but when I came down, they seemed not to understand what I was saying and showed me a menu I’d have to pay for. I was short on time, so I didn’t press the issue. I can’t say whether their breakfast is actually good or not. At night, I think there was a band below my room. There’s room for improvement, and I hope they do better next time.

The hotel is a nicely renovated Konak close to the river, in a very good location. There’s no elevator. The staff weren’t welcoming, and communicating was difficult because they didn’t speak English at all. Our room was small, with modern furniture and a comfortable bed, but the pillows were hard and the wooden floor creaked when we walked on it. We’d reserved a riverfront room but got a side view, so we could hardly see the river. The curtains didn’t block out the light, the TV was tiny, and the fridge didn’t cool. There were only two pillows, one per person, and a single rough light blanket. We asked for extra pillows and a sheet; they first said those weren’t available, but brought them after we argued. Neither of the two Wi-Fi networks worked, and reporting it didn’t get the problem fixed. The bathroom was cramped, with a tiny sink and the toilet squeezed between the sink and shower. It was hard to use comfortably. There was only a tiny bar of hand soap and no tissues. When I touched the towel rail and toilet paper holder, they both came off in my hand and fell to the floor. Every night from 8 PM until midnight, loud music and drums came with people singing and shouting, and we couldn’t sleep. Breakfast was okay, but when we asked the waiter to toast the bread, he said he couldn’t. Really strange. I don’t recommend it.

The hotel is in a handy spot for crossing the bridge, exploring the restored old town, and walking up to the rock tombs. It’s a charming boutique hotel in a converted Ottoman home, and there’s a panel outside explaining the house’s history. Parking is free. The staff valet parked our car at arrival and had it ready when we left. Check-in was easy, and they spoke enough English for us to get by. They even offered us Turkish coffee while we checked in. Our room had period furniture, a modern bathroom, a kettle with tea and coffee, and a view over a park and the large mosque. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was really good. We ordered curry and meatballs. Traditional Turkish breakfast was included and also very good. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Turkey. Safe travels.
