I don't usually leave reviews, but this stay shocked me enough that I feel people should know what happened. My partner and I had been camping for a while and booked this as a little treat so we could rest. We're backpacking around Türkiye on a tight budget, and even the cheaper option here was almost beyond what we could afford. We thought it might still be worth a few nights. Instead, we lost our money and left early. €40 is a lot for us, and that wasn't a choice we made lightly. The room was a tiny box with no outside window, and there wasn't enough space to put our bags or even turn around comfortably. Its only window looked straight into the kitchen, where people cooking and eating could see into our room. We couldn't open it, for obvious reasons, so it was horribly stuffy. The AC barely worked, and we woke up feeling sick. This was in October. I can't imagine how hot it gets in summer. Since we are two women travelling together, having a room basically inside the kitchen made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. The walls were paper thin, too. It felt like people walking by were in our room, and we could hear someone breathing next door. The breakfast was another disappointment. As a Turkish person, I was ashamed that a foreign visitor could be served such poor-quality food in such tiny portions and have it called a “Turkish breakfast.” When I politely asked to change rooms because of the kitchen window, a staff member laughed in my face. The boss refused to refund us when we said we wanted to leave, so we left anyway and took the loss. At 2000 tl a night, about €40 as I write this, the price felt criminal for what was basically a plasterboard cell. If this had been priced like a budget hostel, say €10 a night for a room, it might have been understandable, even pretty good. At €40, it felt misleading and cruel. I hope the owner seriously thinks about what they're doing. I agree with the bad reviews and can't understand the high ratings. Don't stay here. We also read the negative reviews and saw the owner's replies claiming outright that every room has a window facing outside and that all the breakfast produce is high quality. That contradicts what we experienced and makes guests feel dismissed. It shows a lack of understanding and care for customers. We found another place a five-minute walk away for the same price. Its room was twice as big, with real windows and a beautiful breakfast and reception area. There are other options nearby for budget travellers like us. Our new place was gönül sefası konağı.

We stayed four nights and never wanted to move elsewhere because everything here suited us so well. The rooms were new, spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Mr. Mustafa helped us a great deal, and we're very grateful. The hotel is in the best spot in town, close to everything yet quiet. Easily worth five stars.

We were six family members staying for one night. Everything was new and clean, and the staff were cheerful and helpful. They welcomed us with Turkish coffee, and breakfast was decent. I highly recommend it 😊

I really enjoyed Amasya, and the hotel was lovely too. It was very clean and close to the historical sites, with friendly staff. Amine, a very nice Turkish woman, served me at the hotel, and Mehmet was a very nice man.

The host is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are brand new and very clean. Rukaya otel is downtown, close to all the popular sites in Amasya. I'd definitely recommend it to tourists visiting.
