Hotel Best

Serdar bey is the best hotel employee I’ve ever met. He’s friendly and respectful, and while you’re in the lobby he’ll politely ask if you’d like anything to eat or drink. He always makes sure visitors and tourists are comfortable. Thank you for the hospitality and service, dear Serdar bey.

The breakfast buffet is the one downside, since the choices are limited and the same things keep coming back. Otherwise, the staff are friendly and, most importantly, speak English. The Wi-Fi and location are great, with plenty of good restaurants nearby and many embassies close by. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Ankara.

My room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the water pressure was great. The staff and service were great too, while breakfast was passable. The rooms and hotel are dated, though, and the sound insulation is poor. We could hear every vehicle passing on the road below, and louder ones woke me up now and then. The location is the main reason to book. It’s close to all the embassies, with what seems like endless lively pubs and restaurants behind the hotel. It’s on Ataturk blvd, where rush-hour traffic never gets too crippling.

The location was great, and I liked that the place had an old-fashioned charm. The building, furniture, taps, beds, even the staff all felt like they belonged to another era, and the old bulbs gave it an almost 1980s feel. That wasn't a problem for me by itself. The trouble was the room was so dim that we had to use our phone lights to find our things when checking out early. The bathroom taps shut off on their own and need replacing, and the AC/heater didn't work, so there was no air circulation. We felt sick in the room. Breakfast was very limited too. I'd urge management to renovate while keeping some of its antique character.
