Hotel Akyuz

The beds weren’t comfortable. There were three single beds pushed together for our family of three, and the hotel itself felt old and in need of renovation. Our non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarettes. Staff sprayed air freshener twice to help, but the smell stayed. It’s on a very busy road, so it was noisy, and during working hours it was almost impossible to find parking. The staff were kind enough to let us eat breakfast early so we wouldn’t miss our train, which we appreciated. Fine for one night while passing through, but not a good fit for families or longer stays.

For the €400 I paid for two nights, this was a huge disappointment. The toilet was dirty, there was hair on the beds, and cleanliness overall was very poor. Breakfast was low quality, and the service was disorganized. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and their English was very limited. One man who said he was the manager used offensive language toward me. He said “AMK” in Turkish, which means “F your mother.” I strongly advise against staying here. The owner should take serious action, especially regarding the morning shift staff, who contributed to this awful experience. Save your money and book elsewhere.

The experience was very bad. The receptionist treated guests poorly both morning and evening. There were no drinks, and breakfast wasn’t as shown in the website photos. This nine-storey hotel seemed to have only a receptionist, one person in the kitchen, and another cleaning the rooms. The kitchen closed at five.

A bad experience.
