New Gate Hotel

The hotel looks good, but don't let the appearance or photos fool you. The morning staff's behavior was awful, especially the older woman who owns the restaurant. She followed guests around the dining room, counted their bites, and rudely told people to eat less at breakfast. The restaurant owner is a liar and bothers guests. I hated staying here. The fridge in the room was empty, and each bottle of water cost 10 liras. There's no service, not even help carrying luggage to your room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

It's quiet here and handy for the train station. Download speed was good enough for streaming YouTube videos, which is useful for business travelers. Upload speed was too low for online meetings, though, and people at the other end couldn't hear me clearly. I ended up using my own cellphone data.

New Gate Hotel was a good value for the price and facilities, with a nice balance of comfort and affordability. During our four nights, the rooms were clean and comfortable. We arrived early in the morning and the staff kindly arranged early check-in. Our room faced the busy main street on the second floor, but the soundproof windows kept outside noise down enough for peaceful rest. The staff were professional and courteous throughout. The hotel is close to metro and bus stations, and near the city center, so getting around and exploring was easy. Atatürk Monument in Antikibir is about 20 minutes away, as is Atatürk Boulevard.

The owner and receptionists were always trying to help, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was clean and in a great spot, about 10 minutes behind the railway station. It's around a 15-minute walk to the city center. Ankara must have lots of good hotels, but this is one of the best. Great! 🇬🇷❤️🇹🇷
