Opera Suites Hotel

We stayed in the apartments for eight days and had a great stay. They were in good condition and looked like the photos. Reception staff were polite and very helpful. They gave us a crib for free and, when we asked, an extra mattress cover for the sofa bed. Free laundry was a big help with kids. The suites are about five minutes from the waterfront. Across the street there's a big road with all kinds of businesses and shops, plus plenty of good restaurants nearby. The area is very quiet.

Our two-bedroom apartment for my wife, our three-month-old and me was tiny. There was no room for a cot in the bedroom, so our baby had to sleep in the kitchen/living area. There was nowhere for our luggage either, and we had to use the other room for it. The mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, leaving my wife with neck pain and us with sleepless nights. There was black mold in the toilet and kitchen, dangerous for adults, let alone babies and children. Staff didn't help load the car even though we had so many suitcases. For what we paid, this fell far short of the standard. Avoid.

I booked the family suite but got a small suite, and the salon was smaller than expected. The cleaning needs attention too. They said they clean every three days, but during my five-night stay they only changed the towels on the third day. For anyone travelling with family and a child, cleaning is a must, and insects will come in if the room isn't cleaned. I edited this review after the response, which felt unprofessional and made false claims. It was the same sort of answer we got from staff when we asked for cleaning after three days. I assure you I left the room in good condition, so any claim otherwise is untrue. We checked out at 9:00 am, left our luggage at reception, and collected it at 6:00 pm. Nobody raised those claims then, because they didn't exist. It feels like you're using them to cover for your unprofessional service. My review is about the experience I had and the issues I felt weren't properly addressed. Guests should feel heard when they raise concerns, not dismissed. The service, including the cleaning frequency, didn't meet my expectations. I hope you take this feedback seriously and improve things for future guests.

Tourists, do not stay here. I am a USA Citizen and was ROBBED and ASSAULTED inside Opera Suites hotel during my stay on September 11, 2024. I have everything on record and video recorded my interaction with the staff, so I have audio and visual proof. I'm sure they'll dispute this review, but please don't give this dangerous hotel your business. The man who robbed me was someone I had met at the beach earlier that day. He invited me for drinks, but I needed about 10 more minutes to get ready. Since it was hot outside, he asked if he could wait in my room. As soon as he got inside, he threatened me if I said anything. He stole my gold necklace and about $60 USD. I ran downstairs right away and asked reception to call the police. Staff refused, saying that if this happened more than three times in a year, WE (the hotel) would get in trouble. They said calling police would be more problematic for me because I'd let an unauthorized guest into my room. I told them their staff had allowed the robber into the property without stopping him at reception, and again asked them to call police so I could make a report. After I said I'd call the police myself, staff became hostile. It seemed clear they didn't want police involved because it would reflect badly on their business. They then threatened to call the police ON ME if I didn't leave immediately, blaming me for allowing the unauthorized guest into my room. This place is dangerous. They don't prioritize guests' safety. When someone is victimized on their property, they blame that person and threaten or blackmail them for wanting to involve the police. Please avoid it.
