Tema 242 Hotel

We’ve stayed here twice now, and the staff have been friendly both times. We were lucky to get a room with a sea view, which is lovely to wake up to. The restaurant turns into a steak bar at night and is excellent. You can choose dry-aged or regular fresh steaks, both equally good. I had the rib eye last night, and it was beautiful, so tender it melted in my mouth. Well worth staying here.

The room had a balcony with beautiful sunsets, and all the facilities in it were really good. We were greeted warmly on arrival and told about breakfast, the bar hours, and how to ask for anything we needed. The room was very clean and suited us well. A full sea view upgrade is available, and I’d recommend it. The air conditioning worked great, and the shower and toilet were excellent, with a built-in bidet. Our cleaner, Sacide, was especially helpful. The bed was two singles pushed together, and my side was very firm, which wasn’t great for sleeping on my side. The duvet was a thin blanket and too small for two unless we stayed close together. We sorted out the bedding the next morning, so it wasn’t an issue after that. There’s a pool and a good bar open 24x7. Considering the value, cleanliness, facilities, location, and staff, we’d be happy to come back.

Housekeeping were lovely, and my room was always clean, which I appreciated. The main meals were okay, but breakfast was terrible, with undercooked omelettes. Reception, on the other hand, was a letdown. The staff seemed miserable throughout my stay. I was expecting a delivery and asked several times if it had arrived. Each time they said no, so I waited outside for the taxi bringing it, only to learn it was already at reception. When I went back to ask, the pregnant receptionist rolled her eyes and was rude, making me feel like a nuisance. I reminded her I’d already asked, and she brushed me off with “yeah, yeah, yeah.” It was very unprofessional. My first room was freezing because the air conditioning didn’t work, but staff moved me quickly to another. The replacement room was small and tucked in a corner, but fine for a solo traveler. Check-in itself was smooth: I signed some paperwork and got my key straight away. It was an okay stay, but I wouldn’t come back if I had other options.

The staff were welcoming throughout my stay. Reception, cleaners, restaurant staff, and the bar team are all a credit to Tema242. I’ve just come back from a very pleasant seven nights and will return. The location is superb: there’s a safe walkway by the sea, and it’s a very pleasant 40-minute stroll to the Old Town of Anatalya. The beach is just across the road and down some steps, with plenty of good restaurants, shops, and pubs nearby. Room 303 was great, with a fantastic sea view and mountains in the background. I spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying it. I was on a breakfast-only plan, and there was a wide selection, with fresh eggs cooked for you. They even had soup for guests having dental treatment.
