Zel Hotel

The hotel worked well for our business in the free zone, and the price was reasonable. My room was cleaned nicely each day, and the breakfast had plenty of choice. I also appreciated how quickly reception moved me when the air conditioning in my first room didn't work, and the person who came to check it was helpful. Still, I had already unpacked, so I had to pack everything again. It’s probably best to check the room before settling in. I had asked for a single room but was given one with three beds. By the time I noticed at check-in, it was too late to look for another hotel. When I later asked about a single-bed room, I was told none were available. That would have been better to know at check-in. The shower cabin is very small, and could be difficult if you’re overweight. I also found the male attendant’s gaze and actions unsettling. He brought fresh cutlery before I’d even left the table, which made me feel rushed out. If that doesn’t bother you, the breakfast variety itself is quite sufficient. We were five family members staying at zel hotel, and had such a lovely time. It’s only about three minutes from the beach, and the rooms were clean, with the cleaning staff doing a very good job. Breakfast was really good too, we all enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly and ready to help whenever needed. The owner and his son were especially warm and kind. His son recommended a tour to the Turkish Maledives and made the reservation for us. It ended up being one of our best experiences. The people there made the stay even better. Highly recommend.

The shower was dirty, so we bought Domestos to clean it ourselves. The hotel didn’t want to clean it for us.

I couldn’t sleep properly at all. There was shouting and loud noise at 5am, and the lift motor shook the walls through the night. The internet only worked if I stood outside the room. The rooms were dirty, and the bathroom dispenser had a single foam or soap product that you had to use for shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash. No kettle or coffee sachets, either, just a bed, some old towels, and that foam. I’d meant to book one night, but he charged me for three nights for my whole stay in Antalya, saying he’d given me a special discount. The next morning I asked to check out. They said I could leave, but there would be no refund by the owner’s order. I was told to wait until 4pm to see if he might change the rules, but he refused and shouted at me in Turkish before turning his back. The owner was the rudest person I’ve ever met, hungry for money. Even staff spoke badly about him, saying he paid them peanuts and gave them no insurance. One staff member called him “a sick person.” In short, the place is a waste hall. Terrible.
