Med Airport Hotel

We had a pleasant, clean room, and coffee and tea were available at any time. The staff were very friendly and offered either an airport transfer or a taxi; we took the taxi. We only stayed one night before a morning flight, and the location worked well, not far from the airport. Thanks very much for the help. We recommend the hotel.

I found an unauthorized charge of 49,770 Turkish Lira, about 1,280 USD, from this hotel on my credit card even though I’ve never stayed there. I’ve reported it to my bank and the authorities. If you’ve booked or are planning to book, check your transactions carefully and be cautious about sharing your payment details.

I booked one night and asked at check-in when breakfast was served. They told me the cheap room didn’t include breakfast. When I showed them my Agoda confirmation, they said to check with Agoda. They offered no breakfast, or breakfast for 7 Euro. I contacted Agoda staff right away, but the issue still wasn’t resolved by morning. I had to check out at 7:30am to find breakfast and follow up with Agoda. The hotel told Agoda that we had checked out early, so there was no breakfast, since it was served at 9am. They also claimed their staff had told us this at check-in. It felt like a total scam. The two men who attended to us were the staff involved.

There were two empty cups with cigarette smoke in my room when I entered at check-in time. I also had a bad experience changing money with the receptionist. I gave him $20, and he said he’d give me 600 Turkish lira. He showed me the market rate was 685, so I asked for the other 85. He said there was no change, put the money back in his cash, and returned my $20. Once he realized I’d caught him trying to take a commission, he got very angry. If you want to make commission from a customer, do it at an exchange market. Respectfully, I won’t come back.
