We came back this year after a great stay here on our first trip to Turkey by car, years ago. The location is peaceful and excellent, right beside the beach. The rooms were clean, the accommodation was good, and the staff were friendly. You could see some wear setting in, though, with summer coming to an end.
The water here is mesmerizingly clear, even though it gets deep after only about three steps. It’s some of the best I’ve seen in the Marmara region, probably because it’s close to the Aegean side. The beachside hotels are a little old and shabby, but fine for a couple of days. Better hotels with their own olive gardens can be found on the second and third lines. A chaise lounge and beach umbrella cost about 30tl per day.
There are restaurants and cafés nearby with a good range of meals and snacks, so it’s easy to spend the whole day swimming, sunbathing, and eating. The sea is clean and refreshing, and this is one of the best beaches near Assos.
The water is such a deep blue and really lovely, though it gets deep. Assos is the best place to go swimming. The beach has small stones, but that didn’t bother us.
A good spot if you want fresh air, untouched nature, and lovely sea without lots of buildings around. Just don’t expect much luxury or a particularly chic setting.
