Cunda Pur Beyaz Otel

The hotel sits up on a hill, and there are two roads leading there. We had a car, so finding it was easy. It’s far enough from the center for a quiet night, but close enough to get to the Main Street. Everything is crisp, clean, and white, with an amazing view. It feels more like a welcoming summer house than a hotel. There are beautiful flowers all around, with a divine smell. Breakfast is pleasant and traditionally Turkish. I’d come back.

That fridge in room 23 barely kept our drinks cold. It wasn’t cold enough to keep our dinner leftovers safely, so we had to throw them out. The gentleman at the front desk said that was as cold as the fridge got and there was nothing he could do. Maybe the other rooms don’t have lukewarm fridges like that one. If you don’t speak Turkish, have Google Translate or another translation option handy, since many staff speak only a little English. They’re extremely kind, though, and know how to use translation apps. The hotel is tranquil, with quite a few locals living nearby, and it’s just minutes down the road from Ayvalik, a nice break from the hustle. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with clean, cozy boutique rooms and a cool, refreshing pool. The full Turkish breakfast is included, generous, and delicious, and the staff are patient and accommodating. If you’re driving, don’t follow Google Maps, which takes you down very narrow cobblestone roads. The map photos attached show the way: take Mevlana Cd. to Mevlana Cd. 1/2. Sk. right to the hotel car park, and don’t take 15 Eylül Cd.

This was our third stay, and we don’t even want to look at other hotels when we come to Ayvalık. The service is consistently good, and Selim took care of us on this visit with kindness, politeness, and flexibility. Thanks for another lovely stay. Highly recommend this boutique hotel.

That spectacular view was the clear highlight, and it’s why I’m giving two stars. The rest of the stay was disappointing. We had four rooms booked, and all of us felt the same way. We’d come from different countries for a wedding in Cunda, and I’d flown all the way from Australia, so I really wasn’t impressed. We stayed three nights and none of the rooms were cleaned. There didn’t seem to be any housekeeping. When we asked reception for tissues, the woman told us to use the bathroom toilet paper. The air conditioning worked the first night, then stopped for the rest of our stay in all four rooms. They were quite small, too, with only a glass door between the bed and toilet. Check-in took a good half hour while they tried to find my Expedia booking, which was under Shadi Saad. The other rooms were booked under different names. Honestly, two stars feels generous, but the view was amazing.
