We’re staying here now, and we’re extremely disappointed. The listing promised amenities that aren’t in the room: no TV, kettle, coffee facilities, or hairdryer. There are paint stains, cleanliness is below standard, and electrical plugs are hanging out of the wall in a dangerous way. The sheets and towels were stained and dirty, and there were hairs in the bed and on the visibly soiled mattress. We booked based on misleading descriptions and previously good reviews, but what we found, and current feedback from other guests, tells a different story. This property may have potential, but it needs serious investment, attention, and time before it’s ready for guests. We expect the problem to be acknowledged and compensation for the false advertising and deeply disappointing stay. Guests shouldn’t have to deal with these conditions.

Our family booked a week here, but the hotel looked nothing like its photos. The room was horrifying: cockroaches, a filthy rusted bathroom, broken lights, and air conditioning that leaked all night until the bed was soaked. Other things went wrong too. Breakfast was always late, the drink machine didn’t work, the pool table was slanted and impossible to play on, and there was no Wi-Fi or phone signal in the room. After we complained, the receptionist and guest relations manager agreed to a full refund. Booking.com also confirmed that after talking to the hotel, but once we were back in the UK, the hotel refused to honor the promise. It was unhygienic, badly maintained, and dishonest. Don’t waste your time or money.

Our two weeks at Alexander The Great Hotel Spa in Bodrum were the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. The pool was cloudy and visibly dirty, common areas were worn and unclean, and even after seeing people complain, nothing seemed to be done. Our room was filthy and the toilet smelled constantly. It was cleaned only twice in 14 days, and we got fresh towels once, but they were still stained and smelled bad. The air conditioning didn’t work. We asked every day for it to be fixed, but no one came, and sleeping in the July heat was unbearable. Staff were mostly uninterested and unprofessional, ignoring guests or making excuses. Eventually we stopped asking because nothing got resolved. The hotel doesn’t deserve its star rating, is falsely advertised, and should be avoided. I wouldn’t recommend it for even one night.

Police visits made us uneasy for the rest of our stay, especially after we saw official notices on our room doors twice. The notices said the property had been sealed and banned from operating by the Bodrum District Governorship. When we asked the front desk, they brushed us off with “nothing to worry about” and quickly took the notice from us. Fortunately, I kept a photo. We never got a clear explanation and were left wondering if the hotel was legally allowed to be open. It may look like a bargain, but I’d strongly advise against staying here. The stress and mysterious police visits aren’t worth it. Spend a little more on somewhere that’s functioning properly and legally operating.
