Don't let the photos fool you. We paid 1050€ for 4 nights and 3 rooms, and this horrible "hotel" was nowhere close to what the pictures showed. Breakfast was nothing like the photos, with barely any cheese, and the tea tasted like it had been sitting for three days. The breakfast area felt about 100°C. There was air conditioning, but it wasn't turned on. The rooms were tiny and had no privacy. We could hear noises from two blocks away and footsteps from the room above. The beds weren't comfortable, the bathroom was dirty, and the toilet sink barely drained. We also found many cockroaches, including one in the small fridge that barely worked. The manager was very rude. When we asked for water from the dispenser, she told us to buy it at a supermarket more than three blocks away. Staying here felt like a nightmare.

The design and history here are a real treat, with a sense of mystery in everything from the ceilings to the door locks. Mr. and Mrs. Koray welcomed us like guests in their own home. Staying here before heading out around Bodrum made me feel like a local, while the crowds seemed like tourists, and I just wanted to say, "Oh, there are so many of them, leave us alone!" ))) Thank you, Cemil İpekçi, and thank you, Mr. Koray. I'd wanted to visit for a long time and finally got the chance this weekend.

The hotel is a beautifully restored historic building with a story behind it, and the location is excellent for exploring the city center on foot. Koray and Pelin were so kind, attentive, and helpful. I'm glad we met, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was quite adequate. I'd love to come back next time I'm in Bodrum.

I spent the three-day holiday around August 30th at the hotel on my own, hoping to use the time to make progress on a story I've been working on. I'd just listened to "Memories of a Dinosaur" on Storytel, so being somewhere that had witnessed at least some of the events described in it felt good. I hope I can come back for a short weekend in the spring.
