DoubleTree by Hilton Bodrum Marina Vista

The breakfast was excellent, and I liked the pool area. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly, and as an Honors Gold Member I felt welcome. I was disappointed there was no complimentary room upgrade, though. My room looked out over the marina, which also meant hearing loud music from the nightclubs. There was a really unpleasant smell in the bathroom, possibly coming from the sewer. At that price, the room shouldn't smell like that. The problem needs fixing.

The room was a bit smaller than some I've stayed in around Taksim, Istanbul, but housekeeping did a great job every day and the staff were friendly. I'd definitely come back. The hotel sits right by the marina on the main strip, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby and great views. Breakfast was included, with plenty of buffet options. It also has a spa, gym, and pool. Bodrum Castle is about a 20-minute walk away, and the neighborhood felt safe. There's a taxi stand directly across from the hotel, which makes getting to the beach easy.

Dora at the front desk welcomed us on a very hot day and kindly offered us two lemonades. They were delicious, and everyone we met on staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast spread was generous, with so many choices. The whole place felt calm and peaceful, and the Marina is an easy walk away. We had an amazing stay at the Double Tree Bodrum Marina and will definitely return.

From the street the hotel looks small, but it stretches across a large area behind the main road. The grounds were gorgeous, and the pool area looked beautiful, though we didn't use it because we visited in January. We had a wonderful room and were happy to receive an upgrade. Parking was very busy, so let the valet handle the car. This was easily our best Hilton during our 8 day trip. We spent two nights in Bodrum exploring, and the setting had an atmosphere I imagine might be like the Greek islands, though I haven't visited them. The location in town was perfect, with a nice bar and restaurant. One drawback was the front desk service: more than once, I had to wait for staff to finish their conversations before they helped me.
