If you know what to expect, it’s a very comfortable place for a quiet stay. The thick walls kept the room at a comfortable temperature even around noon with the windows ajar, so we never needed the AC. The staff told us about the drawbacks before booking: there’s no TV, and the mini fridge takes a while to chill a beer. The delicious breakfast was included, and for the price it felt like a bargain, especially with so few places to stay on the island. There aren’t many rooms or sunbeds, either. I’d suggest coming with your own transport. I didn’t try the island taxis, and although the distance may look short, the center where you’ll need to go for meals is too far to count as walking distance. We knew the likely hassles and what we wanted, and had a very comfortable stay.

The beach was breathtaking, with loungers and umbrellas available, and the walk there was easy, though we had to watch for little cactus bushes lying in wait, lol. The villa and grounds were kept up every day, and the setting made it easy to get to Bozcaada’s attractions, restaurants, shops, wine tasting, and the beach. As an African American woman, I felt welcome each day and was greeted with a smile while breakfast was being made each morning. Our room had a fridge, a nice walk-in shower, and clean towels. There was no TV or phone, which suited the villa’s idea of enjoying what’s around you. I had a lovely stay and plan to come back.

Such a special place, with lovely hosts. A really excellent stay and unforgettable views.

The beach is an easy walk away, peaceful, with the hotel’s own loungers. It’s tempting to stay there and go nowhere else, though the island’s other beautiful bays are worth seeing too. We came across this place online and booked without knowing much; Mr. Nedret and his family have made a little oasis. Ms. Melike’s artistic touches give it a distinct feel. The boutique rooms are simple, minimalist, clean, and tidy, in keeping with nature and local architecture. The bathrooms and toilets were clean as well. Breakfast is included, with limited but enough variety. The pastries alone make a stay worthwhile. The hotel is near the center, and parking wasn’t an issue. We left our car in the free lot opposite the Gendarmerie station at the center entrance and could walk everywhere. Getting from the hotel to the bays is easy too.
