Grand Cali Hotel

The restaurant staff were really friendly, but the food service was awful. At one table, some people were served before others, and the kitchen was the worst I’ve experienced. After waiting a long time for dishes, we noticed the cook never made the same dish the same way, and it didn’t get better. The food all seemed to be made without any care or taste. This is a large hotel with serious problems: over the course of a month, they lost two T-shirts and some underwear in the laundry.

The restaurant, room, and staff are good, but I find the smoking situation unacceptable and disrespectful. Even after choosing a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, people smoke in nearby rooms. This has been an issue for the six years I’ve been staying here, and it’s disgusting. The hotel should also improve the internet, which matters a lot when you’re staying for as long as a month. It feels like a joke at the customer’s expense.

We’d stayed here five times before, but I can’t recommend it now. We booked and paid for 12 rooms through agoda in January, yet they initially refused to accommodate us because they wanted a different price. I couldn’t resolve it with the general manager, so I spoke to the director, who sorted out the money issue. But they sent 7 of the 12 rooms to Cali hotel (3*), where the rooms were dirty and smelled of smoke. After our friends had breakfast at Grand Cali, they were asked again to pay the price difference.

The rooms were clean, and the restaurant and staff were okay. But you can hear neighbors talking on the phone, and cigarette smoke gets into my room because smoking is allowed. For me, that makes this a poor choice if you need to rest after a hard day at work.
