Mavi Kumsal Hotel

A real dump.

We came across the hotel while traveling between cities, and I wish we’d had more time to stay. My fiancé and I were only there for a day, but we were very happy with it. The service and attention were excellent, breakfast and sun loungers were included in the price, and the rates felt reasonable. We tried the hamburger and really liked it. The beach wasn’t crowded, mostly families, and the sea was lovely and clean. It’s a handy spot near Istanbul for a short break. The hotel isn’t new or luxurious, but for the price it was more than enough. The bathroom had no shower cabin, though it was spacious and did the job. Everything was clean, including the towels and sheets, and the room had air conditioning. We’d recommend it to anyone thinking of staying there.

We planned to stay four days with our family, but left early on the second day. The bed covers were torn, and bugs and insects kept us from sleeping. At breakfast they served moldy leftovers from other people. The teacups were filthy, and tea came in unwashed glasses. Who knows whether someone with a contagious disease, or AIDS, had used them? What a disgraceful place. It feels as if people’s lives don’t matter. There is a beachfront, which is nice, but it’s full of exhibitionists. The place can spoil people’s morals, and it isn’t suitable for families with children. Think carefully before staying.

You can head straight to the beach through the back door, where sun loungers, chairs, and umbrellas are available. The room was clean, with air conditioning and a TV, and you can request a second cleaning. Breakfast comes plated, and the price is reasonable. Getting there is easy, though parking is hard on Saturdays and readily available on other days.
