Albano Hotel

We only stayed two nights because we had to, and the experience was awful. The shower curtains and showers were disgusting and moldy, the drain was blocked so the toilet area flooded, and the bedding was stained. There weren't even towels in the room when we arrived. We reported everything to reception as we left, and they said they'd check. When we came back, a foot towel had been tossed onto the bed, but none of the problems had been fixed. There was nobody at reception that night, so we had to sleep there. In the morning they moved us to another room with the same indifference. Staying on the street might have been better. Businesses like this should be inspected and shut down.

This is an affordable hotel, but I didn't feel it was good value. The rooms are very small, especially the balcony, and have no mini-fridge. The taps barely run, just dripping, and it nearly made me sick while brushing my teeth. The bathroom is tiny, with only a curtain instead of a shower cabin, which didn't seem hygienic to me. There's a seating area in the garden, but it's outdoors and in the sun. We didn't use the pool, though it looked okay. There was no breakfast or dinner service, and we couldn't find anyone to ask for tea. They hadn't even left a glass of water in the room.

We stayed in the second week of August, and for the price, this was one of the better hotels in the area. The bed was very large and comfortable, while the small bathroom worked well enough. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I left my shoes behind when checking out, and they kindly sent them to me by courier.

When my wife got sick on the day we were leaving, we went to the emergency room and needed more time before checking out. I offered to pay to extend our stay, but the staff said there was availability and we could stay as long as we wanted for free. That's what matters to me: whether people help when something goes wrong, not just whether there's a fridge or pool. I'm very grateful to them. We'd only booked a quick night, and the negative reviews had made me apprehensive. But having traveled to dozens of cities and countries, I found this hotel clean, well maintained, and good value for money. It's within walking distance of Çeşme city center. There is no mini-fridge, which could matter on a longer trip, but the staff were very polite and helpful. At this price, I don't know what more people expect. If I return to Çeşme, I'll choose it again.
