I told the manager I suspected bed bugs after seeing black marks on the mattress. They looked to me like bed bug droppings, similar to pictures online, but he didn't seem to know what they were and insisted it was humidity mold, saying many mattresses at the hotel had it. He said the internet couldn't be trusted and didn't seem interested in investigating. When I asked what he wanted me to do, he said I should go to the Police, Hospital, or some other authority to prove it. He agreed to wash the clothes that had touched the bed, but wouldn't handle the rest of our luggage or clothing unless an authority confirmed bedbugs. He did give us another room for the last nights. On the day we left, we were waiting for our laundry and couldn't travel on to our next destination, an eight hour trip. I asked for one extra night free as compensation. He said there was no reason to do that, but offered a discount. The price he first quoted was double what we had paid, because he said our new room was upgraded. After arguing about that, I got roughly the same rate as the previous nights. At payment, he converted the euro price he had offered into lira at a rate 7% above normal. When I said I'd pay in euros, he wanted to give my change in lira using a rate 7% below normal. His rate changed depending on who was paying whom, and his explanations made no sense. I got tired of the nonchalant, disrespectful, unprofessional treatment and gave up on the few liras. AVOID.
