Kekik Alaçatı Otel

The host was quite friendly, and there are outdoor tables if you want to sit or have something to eat. We enjoyed the small pool, partly because we were the only guests. The hotel is a short walk from the bus stops and outside the town center, which was a plus in Alacati, a pretty little town that’s very expensive and completely gentrified. The room was very inexpensive for Alacati, but really, really small. It was clean and had a refrigerator, bathroom, and closet. It could be a good option.

Even though we were there for just one night, Kekik Hotel felt like home. The family running it were welcoming and attentive, and the calm, warm atmosphere really fits Alaçatı. We’d happily recommend it to anyone after a peaceful, enjoyable stay.

The air conditioning worked well, but that was the only real plus for us. We stayed May 1-3 and got the room diagonally to the left as we came in. It was neglected, the bed was awful, and there was a terrible smell. We only worked out why when we saw a lot of mothballs in the bathroom sink, apparently put there to cover the odor. We could even hear people eating sunflower seeds outside. My wife and I have stayed in plenty of places, including in Europe, and only need somewhere to sleep, but this was the worst hotel we’ve encountered in Turkey or Europe. We avoided coming back until the end of each day. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously and maintain the hotel. We can’t recommend it.

The owner and staff were friendly, the breakfast was very good, and both the rooms and pool were spotless. It’s a quiet, peaceful place to spend a holiday, and it’ll be our first choice next summer.
