Bekir Hotel

We had a group dinner for 150 people. The starter plate arrived with the appetizer juices all mixed together, and the Kemal Pasha dessert they served was about the size of a walnut. The fruit plate never came. There was rice and sautéed meat for the main course, but barely 20-30 grams of meat. At least they didn't skimp on the bread, so we could fill up on that.

I can't speak to the accommodation since I don't know it, but Saturday's late-night live music is a good reason to come. The view and the rest were nice too. Parking and valet problems are why I'm taking off stars.

We were treated very poorly. The woman at reception seemed to run things like a business of her own. We asked for two empty water glasses, but she wanted 100 TL, so we didn't take them. Other items were expensive too: she charged 130 TL for a Coke and a water. I wouldn't have minded paying 1000 TL more to the hotel if it meant not being charged for that glass she brought. She also rudely said, "You shouldn't have asked for a glass, you should have brought your own." Even tourists in Sultanahmet aren't treated this way.

At New Year's Eve dinner the meat was poorly cooked and there wasn't enough of it. They quoted 1000 TL per person, then charged us 150 TL more each when we paid. I won't choose this place again. That's not honest business. If you want to see exorbitant prices, go there.
