The noise is the biggest issue. Heavy, loud music played until 12:30-1 am every night at the hotel and the bar next door, which has the same owner. We wanted to rest, so after two nights we booked somewhere else, despite having reserved five. The location is prime, with a good view and a small private beach along the public walkway by the rear entrance. Rooms were clean, with basic, dated decor, breakfast was good, and the lift made the upper floors accessible. But hospitality was almost nonexistent, and the strict rules felt absurd for a boutique hotel. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Owner/manager Semra doesn’t know how to greet guests, isn’t approachable, and would turn away and walk off. She should work in another business or hire a professional manager. I felt sorry for some staff, including Yunus bey and the kitchen staff, who were kind, willing to help and obliging, but seemed influenced and controlled by the owner when it came to assisting us.

My wife and I stayed for two nights while travelling in Turkey. It’s a small, characterful family-run hotel, and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. You couldn’t ask for a better location for shops, restaurants and the beach. Datça gets mostly Turkish holidaymakers, so not much English is spoken, but that shouldn’t put you off. Everyone we met wanted to help, and communication was never a problem. I’d highly recommend the hotel and would stay again if we visit Datça.

I needed to use the toilet urgently and asked for a small favor when I came in. A middle-aged woman met me and was polite at first, but refused. She had the right to say no, and that wasn’t my issue. As I left immediately, I heard her get very angry and use a nasty slang word about me behind my back. I couldn’t go back to answer because I was in an urgent situation. She showed her real face after putting on a mask of politeness. Be careful, she may smile to your face and then use slang behind your back. I hope she and everyone who reads this see my comment and learn how fake she is. You shouldn’t work with someone so fake and egotistical.

Dennis was especially kind and did more than we expected to help us. Our room was lovely, with a view of the sea, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
