Veziroglu Pension

We came as a family after someone recommended the place, and felt at home straight away. We had a great time with the food, the view, and the friendly atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were both lovely. There are sunbeds for guests, and a beautiful cove with a fine sandy beach just a two-minute walk away. Snorkeling with the kids and seeing the underwater world was a great experience. Loggerhead turtles are around too, like harmless little mascots. They swim and feed with us. Thanks for the warm welcome, Mr. Tanju, Mr. Vezir, and Ms. Ajda. See you again.

We’d been hoping to come since last year, and finally made it. The five days were wonderful. From the warm welcome and delicious meals to the long conversations and new friends, we felt so well looked after. We’ve traveled to lots of places, but never before did we hate the thought of going home. We don’t want to go anywhere else now. Hope we can return again and again. The owner’s communication is poor. Prices for sunbeds and umbrellas changed every day, and he wouldn’t take credit cards. When we said we had no cash and wanted to bring our own, he asked, “Am I supposed to wait for you until evening?” I asked his name, but he wouldn’t even tell me. Neighboring businesses called him “tactless,” and we learned that his municipal contract had expired but he was still occupying the beach with umbrellas and sunbeds illegally.

We planned a seven-day stay this year and ended up staying 11. It was our fourth visit since 2013, after a seven-year gap. This place is especially comfortable for families with young kids. The drive can be tiring, but it’s worth it. You really do feel at home. We were sorry Asuman had retired. Anyone who stayed at Veziroğlu will understand 😂 We missed Özgen’s wonderful pizzas, pitas, and bread. Mornings start with roosters, and by sunset the sea breeze takes away the day’s tiredness. Datça’s air is the best part, with humidity around 30%, so the heat doesn’t feel overwhelming. Everything served comes from their own garden next door. In season, I’d recommend the sweet pomegranates, Nurlu almonds, olive oil, olives, local cheese, heather honey, and pine honey. Thank you so much for everything, Özgen, Ajda, and Tanju.
