This isn’t a hotel, it’s a closed community of apartments. My studio was pretty good: a king-size bed, kitchen, small cupboard, washing machine, oven, fridge, shower room, and a large balcony overlooking the pool. You have to pay extra for cleaning. The community is popular with Muslim people, and they pay a lot of attention to people who aren’t dressed. Nearby, there’s a mosque just 3-4 m from the residence. Its loudspeaker calls start early, close to sunrise, and continue five times a day until the last prayer around 10-11 pm. It was terrible. We’d be trying to rest, sleep, or enjoy something, then the very loud sound would disturb us and scare us. There’s a spa on the property, and I won’t forget it. In winter I paid 150 TL for a hamam, kese, and foam massage. It was filthy inside, with hair everywhere and bugs, even though it wasn’t tourist season and there weren’t many people around. The sauna was cold. The woman who welcomed me wore the same clothes while scrubbing and massaging me, then carried on with her day in them. I’ll never go back to that spa.

The views were stunning, and it’s a lovely place a short walk down to the beach. We stayed for four days, and the woman at reception was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. When the light stopped working, it was fixed immediately, and the same happened with the oven. We’ll definitely stay again.
