Grand Calypso Hotel

Stay away.

We spent one night here, and even if they paid me, I wouldn't stay again. There was dirt everywhere, from the sheets to the toilet, with hair, dust and mosquitoes in the room. Someone forced the room door during the night. The key number didn't match the door number, and the keys could open other rooms too. We had told them we'd extend our stay the next day, but at 9:30 in the morning we found out they'd given our rooms to another customer. The owner was there, and we still ended up in this situation. Don't stay here.

There was no hot water, and the whole hotel was filthy. No fridge, hairdryer or shampoo either, yes, really no shampoo. We only stayed because it was a holiday and we had no choice. Such a waste of money. You'd probably be more comfortable at a campsite with showers and toilets.

The place itself is average, but Altan, the owner, is a good guy and I'd recommend him. The receptionist is grumpy and says no to everything, so don't take too much notice of him. He seems to live in his own world, and there's not much you can do about it.
