Ornella Boutique Hotel

The views from the rooms are nice, and breakfast is good with enough variety that most people should find something they like. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and we had no issues with them. There was no water shortage during our stay. I saw it mentioned in an earlier review, but apparently that was temporary and has been sorted out. The rooms may feel too small for a large family. I’d consider this a decent hotel to stay at, though there are a few things to know. Our room seemed generally clean, but I’d rate the cleanliness around 7 out of 10. It could use a proper deep clean: there was hair and other debris in the corners, and chewing gum and rubbish from previous guests had been left under the bin liner. We only had a couple of mosquito bites, so mosquitoes weren’t a big problem. A wild boar came down near the hotel at night. I’m no expert on this, but I’d be cautious about walking around at night. In Altınoluk, the sea didn’t look very clean. People let their dogs relieve themselves on the beach right in front of you, and it was the same at the beach clubs. It’s hard to know who’s coming and going along the shore. The back streets are in really poor shape too. It seems the municipality isn’t doing a good job of maintaining them, and my car’s bumper got badly scraped in a pothole. For food, the fish cooperative and Altınnağme pide kebab on the promenade were good, though the area gets very crowded at mealtimes. I wouldn’t bother with Sefa Hill or the viewing terrace, they weren’t worth it. And there are bees everywhere.

The breakfasts were filling and had plenty of variety. Chef Hülya made different dishes each morning, and they were tasty and clearly prepared with care. Müyesser Hanım and Tolga Bey also made us feel welcome with their warm, kind manner. The hotel is very clean and offers bed and breakfast, with service that felt fair for the price. We stayed at Ornella Boutique Hotel for 5 nights, from August 11th to 16th. It was my first time there. Getting to it without a car is a bit difficult, but the balcony sea view and the calm, quiet setting make it a nice choice if you want a peaceful break. My one disappointment was that our room wasn't cleaned before we left. Even so, we had a lovely, enjoyable holiday.
