Safe Village Queenaba

The beach was packed, with more day visitors than hotel guests, and it wasn't reserved just for people staying at the hotel. During our stay, the sewage smell was unbearable, and I was disgusted by how dirty everything was. This was more than rust or limescale, it was outright filth. I especially wouldn't bring small children here. People in the reviews who call this hotel wonderful and flawless either stayed somewhere else or had different expectations. It's the dirtiest hotel I've ever seen.

I've been coming back to Queenaba Beach for five years, and from July 17-21, 2023, I stayed under its new name, Safe Village Hotel. I'm glad I returned. The bay and landscaping were much tidier than in previous years, and the bay wasn't too crowded. It's usually popular with families, so anyone sensitive to that should definitely check it out. This time my sea-view room was fantastic. The staff were attentive all around, from reception and housekeeping to the dining room chef and bellboys. Housekeeping would come clean any of the rooms whenever you asked. The food was delicious, and if you asked, the bellboys were great about offering coffee after dinner. The renovated concept is wonderful, and the service is fantastic for the price. It made for a pleasant holiday. Well done to the whole team, and thank you so much for everything. I highly recommend the place.

The buffet food was the worst we've tasted after staying at open-buffet places many times. The ingredients seemed clearly low quality, and there were no drinks with the buffet. I wish they'd charge a penny more and have a bar with drinks. The amenities are worn and dingy, and they should update them when people are paying so much. There were over 50 rooms but only one crib, even though dozens of families with babies choose this hotel. That's truly ironic. The staff seemed unwilling to work, disinterested in service, incompetent, and inexperienced. They just try to distract you, and don't seem honest or ethical. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this resort at all. I can't even list everything. Go enjoy your money and vacation somewhere else, folks.

The location is excellent, and the place is quiet and peaceful. But service and quality haven't improved at all, year after year. There are too few people cleaning rooms, and it feels more like a resort than a hotel. The beach trash is left there, and the sun loungers are dirty. We were looking forward to the pier this year, but it had been removed. The price is reasonable, but I don't think it's worth it. The food was worse this year, with stale bread and little variety. The appetizers were good, but there wasn't much choice for main courses.
