Grand Catalkaya Hotel

The location worked well, close to both the train station and city centre, and the staff helped us find a taxi early in the morning. We booked at the last minute after our previous hotel cancelled. It was adequate for a short stay, though the room wasn't in great condition, with damage in several places and it wasn't spotless. We had to check out very early, so I can't comment on breakfast.

Really nice, clean hotel, with good service and a good restaurant. The breakfast buffet was really good and huge.

The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of tasty choices, and the location is quite central. It's only a few minutes on foot to the bus station for Palandoken, handy if you're there for winter sports. The room was clean and comfortable, and I had a nice stay overall. I'd stay again, but bring earplugs and a humidifier :) The central heating made the room much too hot, extremely dry, and stuffy, so we had to keep the window open the whole time. Our room's small window also let in too little natural light, and we had to leave the lights on all the time. The lamps right above the bed were extremely loud, which got exhausting.

Our family of five fit perfectly in the family room, and we were very happy with the stay. Hakan bey at reception was especially helpful whenever we had questions or wanted a suggestion. The hotel is well placed for walking to the city centre or taking public transport to the ski slopes. Breakfast was excellent, with a bigger buffet than I've seen at other well-known hotels.
