Lighthouse Alexa Villas

A relaxing villa, a good job, and a great place.

The place smelled of goats and the local, picturesque private sector, and it was far from civilization. There were no blankets, the plumbing was rusty, and the glass shelves were literally coming off the walls. We had to buy extra equipment ourselves. The boiler leaked, and they paid for pool maintenance without asking us, then sent us the bills. Communication was extremely difficult, and they ignored our comments about improving the accommodation. The landlord was rude and dishonest. They kept most of the deposit, which they had asked for in foreign currency, and returned part of it in lira at an unfavorable rate. They also inflated the utility bill and cut the electricity at the panel. The contract was drawn up for their benefit, leaving us as tenants with no legal basis and no way to prove anything. We had to pay four installments up front, then pay separately for every request. I don’t recommend it; it only brings more stress.

It’s quiet and peaceful, a place suited to getting away on your own. The garden is spacious and there’s a pool, though it’s very small and shallow. Rooms are not large, but each has its own bathroom and toilet, and the appliances are good quality. The rooms aren’t well insulated, and with reeds nearby there are lots of flies and insects; there are no mosquito nets. The living room has a corner sofa, though it barely works as one, and there’s no proper seating group. Watching TV in the evening is nearly impossible because there’s practically no Turkish programming. No restaurant delivers here, and you may want to bring some kitchenware. They seem to have branded everything themselves, towels, shampoos, soaps, plates, and cups all have brand labels.

Peaceful place, and they keep the pool clean all the time. It’s nice.
