Nefis Hotel City

After hiking the Lycian way trail, my partner and I had booked a few nights at hotel nefis so we could relax. I’ve stayed in many hotels around Fethiye and never left a bad review before, but this was the worst experience. At check-in, we asked to confirm the advertised breakfast and laundry services, only to be told they weren’t provided. Those were key reasons we booked, so we tried to get a refund and find somewhere else. After three hours and conversations with two reception staff and their boss, intermittently by phone, we were offered no options. There was no accountability. The owner tried to say we were in the wrong, then hung up and refused to speak to us again. The reception staff shouldn’t have to handle issues like this when they have no authority to issue refunds.

Our Booking reservation was cancelled without any advance notice. When we arrived, the hotel said there were no rooms available, leaving us to look for somewhere else at 10 p.m. We were lucky to find a nice place, but otherwise we might have had to sleep outside. The hotel gave no explanation. It was disgraceful.

The room had nowhere to store our things, with no cupboard or other storage, and it felt alarmingly cramped, more like a closet than a place to relax. The bathroom smelled bad, suggesting poor cleaning and upkeep. There was also no kettle, and the hotel charged for hot water. Staff didn’t understand English, so it was nearly impossible to sort out questions or problems. The door lock looked flimsy, which made me uneasy. Check-in wasn’t until 3 PM, later than the usual 12 to 2 PM range, and that was inconvenient from the start. They also provided no complimentary drinking water, so we had to find our own. Hotel Nafis Point fell well short on basic comfort and service, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a hassle-free stay.

The location was convenient, close to both the old town center and the beach. The main drawback was the value for money. Rooms are very small: I booked one with three beds, but it was cramped, and the third bed seemed to have been added to raise the price. The bathroom was clean but also small. The stairs are narrow, and there’s no elevator.
