Villa Phoenix

I spent four months here and was very happy. Mr. Anıl, the owner, is kind and quick to sort out any problems. People mention mosquitoes in the reviews, but that's just part of these areas in the Aegean region. Keep the doors and windows shut and run the air conditioning, and they won't get in. You can have a peaceful holiday here with your family.

We ended up here for two days after a problem with the villa we'd booked, and the agent arranged this place for us. I rarely write reviews, but people come for a few days or a week to relax after working all year, and I didn't want anyone's break to be wasted. The house felt like your grandmother's place, with old, dirty furniture. The pots and pans were burnt, there were ants everywhere, and the dishwasher didn't work. We had to hand-wash everything on vacation, and the owner said he didn't even use the machine at home. The place was seriously filthy. My mother and I spent a whole day cleaning. There was cat hair on the chairs, and the dirty sofas had sheets thrown over them. I wouldn't go even if it were offered for free.

Bring your own shampoo, towels, laundry and dish soap, and toilet paper, because those things are missing. They do leave one small and one large towel per person. The sofa cushions soak up water and are a little dirty. The automatic sprinklers start at 5 am, and our laundry basket on the lawn ended up with all the clothes soaked. We should have been told about that in advance. The water and outdoor areas get cleaned in the mornings, which is handy. There’s air conditioning and mosquito screens, so we could sleep comfortably.

It's a practical, pleasant villa, and the owner is helpful and understanding. The pool is on the small side but clean, and the location is better than the other villas around it. We had a wonderful holiday.
