Çarşı Otel

A clean, cozy hotel, and the staff are kind. They can understand English well enough. The internet was the only issue, since it sometimes stops working.

The room was freezing, and they used air conditioning in winter. The central heating seemed ancient, and the radiators didn’t work even after we told them. The towels were worn out too. For this price, you can get deluxe rooms in the most metropolitan districts of Istanbul and Izmir, where they only provide shower gel and disposable toothbrushes. You can’t have people getting sick in cold rooms.

The bed felt hard to me, and there’s no laundry service. Rooms have a wardrobe, TV, air conditioning, bathroom, and a table with chairs, but no kettle or refrigerator. The hotel is on a narrow street in the center, with a municipal car park one street below.

I was exhausted and went to bed, but the strong sewage and cigarette smells made it impossible to sleep. They moved me to another room around 11:12, but bedbugs ruined the night there too. I paid for a room and never slept, and ended up sleepless and mentally ill. I can’t recommend this place.
