North Star Hotel

Waking up in a comfortable bed to those unusual, imaginative views was lovely. :)

The best place.

The view and location were good, and I’d gladly return to Gerze. I can’t recommend this hotel, though. The room had cleanliness and smell issues, and the breakfast and general upkeep were terrible. The pillowcases seemed fine, but the pillows inside were completely yellow. We arrived late without a reservation, and there were rooms available. Still, the staff member’s dismissive response, “This is all I can offer, there’s nothing else I can do,” really bothered me. I won’t fault them for the noise because we’d been warned about it, and we arrived late without knowing other places to stay. I wasn’t satisfied.

The sea is rocky, but very clean, and the pool was a nice extra. We first thought we’d stay just one night and move elsewhere, but ended up extending our stay. The staff were attentive and very pleasant. When we told reception about the room’s cleanliness, the cleaning staff quickly took care of what needed doing. Thank you, North Star, and thanks to the staff for all their hard work.
