Diana Residence

The pool area has plenty of space, sunbeds, and parasols, and all the staff and management are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. This was our second stay at Diana Residence, and as always we got a warm welcome. We emailed Omar in advance to ask for extra duvets on the beds, and that was taken care of. Our apartment was spacious, with two balconies. The maid service was brilliant, with bedding changed every two days, along with the towels, and the cleaning staff are lovely. Overall, a great hotel.

The three-bedroom apartment was spacious and well equipped. We didn't use the bar or restaurant because they weren't inviting, and only went to the pool a few times because the same people grabbed the same sunbeds every day. Cleaning wasn't regular enough: the cleaners came twice in the first week and only once in the second. I asked for a plug for the bathroom basin. They said they had to order one, but it never arrived, so my partner had to shave using a large saucepan.

The only downside, if there is one, is that the location is a bit off the beaten track, typically Turkish I suppose. Still, it's only a short walk to the nearest beach, and I would definitely visit again. Diana Residence is a beautiful, well-run hotel that deserves its 4* status. The hotel and rooms were very clean and tidy. The apartments had free air conditioning and a safe, which isn't always the case. There was a good choice of food and drink, and a good-sized pool with a little one for younger children.

When I got to Diana around midnight, the dirt track and seemingly remote location had me a little concerned. In daylight, though, you can see it's only a short walk to lovely Calis beach, with buses and taxis near the hotel for Calis, Fethiye, and beyond. The apartments are spacious, have what you need for self-catering, and are cleaned regularly. Free air conditioning is available throughout, with plenty of settings, and was a highlight of my stay. WiFi was frustratingly weak, though I found the best connection by the pool, on the balconies, and at the restaurant, which helped. The shower rarely got hot and was usually lukewarm at best, in a way that could feel refreshing. Service was impeccable and the staff amazing. The pool is a decent size and has lots of sunbeds, which made it pleasant to use, as that's not always the case. The bar and restaurant are convenient, reasonably priced, and serve decent food, so I’d recommend them. The shop near reception charges premium prices compared with others in the area, but it's handy for food and drink if you're self-catering.
