The rooms are all different and give you a proper cave stay. Some don’t have an attached bathroom, those bathrooms are outside the room. It’s a gorgeous place in a great spot for views, though it sits at the top of a narrow, steep road. About a 10-minute walk to the center. I’d definitely stay again.

The owner made us feel at home and was incredibly accommodating. We’ve stayed in two other cave hotels, Sultan and Hera, and this was our favorite. It felt like an authentic stay in original carved caves.

The place itself is very nice, but our encounter with the manager was awful. Late one evening we were walking around Goreme, looking for a nice hotel for a future stay. The door was open, lights were on in reception, and a big dog was asleep, but no one was there. We looked around and took some pictures. About five minutes later, a man came out and said something like “yes, please.” We explained we were just looking around and wanted to ask about prices and rooms, but he cut us off. He rudely told us it was midnight, we couldn’t be there just walking around, and it was his house. We asked why he was being so rude and said we were looking for a place to stay and bring groups, and the door had been open. He told us to get out, threatened to call the police, and said he didn’t need us or our groups. He was rough and rude enough that it felt like he might fight us if we said anything more. That isn’t what Goreme is usually like; people are normally welcoming day and night. I don’t think that kind of behavior is acceptable in tourism, or anywhere, really.

At sunrise, balloons rise into the sky and give the place a mystical feel. The cave rooms are lovely, the food is ethnic cuisine, and the staff are polite. An excellent experience, recommended!
