Having a restaurant onsite was very handy after long days out, and the food was excellent. The manager even came by at breakfast to check in personally, and we received Turkish delight before leaving. Those were thoughtful touches that made the stay feel warm and memorable. Orhan deserves a special thanks for going above and beyond with restaurant service, setting up the fireplace, room service, and a complimentary dessert. Cagri helped with the fireplace, arranging a jacuzzi repair, and checkout. Hazem was kind and efficient too.

The restaurant stood out for its attention to the region’s rich food history, with 4,000 years of culinary cuisine in one place. It’s a beautiful Halal Hotel, and even if you’re not Muslim, it’s a fantastic place to visit. It felt safe and family friendly, was clean, and had a warmth that reached body and soul. Sah Saray Cave Suites is in the middle of Gerome National Park, with views of the area’s most beautiful attractions. The attentive, polite staff recommended places to visit and gave us a Cappadocia map that my wife and I used to plan our day trip. They also arranged an all day taxi at a better rate than taking separate taxis to each destination. We’ll never forget the stay or the service. Our only regret is that we couldn’t spend longer in Cappadocia because we had other travel plans. We’ll absolutely return on our next trip, InshAllah. The staff were professional, and the hotel restaurant was incredibly good. We paid for breakfast, which was served à la carte at the tables. One breakfast was enough for two, though even the two of us couldn’t always finish it. Our waiter, Orhan, seemed to anticipate what we needed, stayed close by, and made us smile with compliments. We stayed in the "Goreme" room, with a hammam, a huge round bed that seemed endless, and beautiful, expensive furniture. The view from every window and the terrace was spacious and lovely. We came back for dinner as well as breakfast because the other places didn’t taste as good, and our restaurant’s view and service were incomparably better. It really felt like a vacation fit for a sultan.

The terrace’s Turkish carpets and pillows were all covered for winter, which was a big disappointment. The hotel also felt more like a family-run hotel or Airbnb than a luxury place. For a room costing $300+, I expected something more high end after reading the great reviews. The rooms differ a lot in their amenities and views, and it’s hard to tell from the booking photos what you’ll get. Our first room had shower problems, so after a poor first night’s sleep we asked to move. We were changed to a better room, then moved to an even better suite the same day because of a sewage system problem in the second room. The final room was a huge improvement, with cool decorations and a crazy bathroom. It was okay in the end, but it’s hard to give five stars when we had to deal with these problems and ask to be moved.
