Berr Hotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but this didn't feel like a four star hotel. The hallways and bathroom in my room had been remodelled nicely, while the room itself looked neglected, as if the money went into the bathroom and there wasn't enough left for the room or a decent painter. During my 8 days there, they changed my bed sheets twice. There was one plug for two outlets, so boiling water meant unplugging the cooler. The bathroom's hand soap bottle was empty.

It was raining last night, and by morning my room was full of water. What a nightmare. The hotel is old and doesn't deserve four stars, maybe two or three at most. There was no kettle or tea and coffee setup in the room, and breakfast was really bad. One guest asked for a small piece of butter and wasn't given any. The staff weren't friendly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel in Istanbul at any price.

The breakfast was poor and didn't meet what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. There were also several problems in the room: noise came through from other rooms, doors slamming in the hall, and the street. The curtains didn't cover the whole window, so sunlight got in. The entrance light was faulty, and although I told the receptionist, it wasn't fixed. The hotel is old, which shows in the doors and walls, and it doesn't deserve four stars, maybe two or three. There was no kettle or tea and coffee setup, despite the booking-site photos showing a kettle. When I asked, the receptionist apologized for the equipment. I don't find those photos credible. They even skimp on leaving a bottle of water in the fridge. I don't recommend staying there at all.
