Best Western Plus Hotel Residences Istanbul

From the 25th to the 29th, I stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Istanbul and felt completely at home. Faisal and Yaqub at reception deserve a special thank you. They were always willing to help, whether I needed a taxi or local information, and treated me like family. The staff were incredible overall. I highly recommend the hotel for that kind of service, and I can’t wait to come back. All the best to them!

The hotel only pointed me to its cancellation policy, with no empathy, flexibility or attempt to find a solution. I had explained respectfully that I had no choice but to cancel after a sudden, serious employment issue. I’d booked months ahead with great excitement to attend and perform at an international dance festival, but was told that travelling in these circumstances with my 9-year-old child could put our visa and residency status at risk. As a single mother, I couldn’t take that chance. The room could easily have been resold. The city was hosting a major dance festival and thousands of visitors were looking for accommodation. This is about human decency and goodwill, not money. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone who expects understanding or support in difficult circumstances.

We were a family of three and stayed seven nights in a 2+1 suite. It was very clean and quiet, with new furniture and white goods, and the kitchen was well equipped. From the 11th floor there’s a nice city view. All the rooms have A/C, plus pleasant underfloor heating throughout the suite that you can adjust. Public transport isn’t especially easy to access, though the services were good.

It’s a bit far from central Istanbul, but good value and a nice choice if you’re visiting for hospital treatment. The hotel feels warm and homely, with friendly, helpful reception staff. The domestic staff were attentive too. Esra, our cleaner, was brilliant: she cleaned, tidied and supplied our room with laundry to a high standard. Sinnun, Ozge and Ahmed at reception were friendly and personable, and helped make the stay so enjoyable. Thanks, Best Western team. We’ll be back!
