I’ve never had a worse hotel experience. The lobby looked like an old casino and smelled strongly of cigarettes. There were about ten check-in counters serving five or six hotels with different names but apparently the same property. The reception staff didn’t speak another language, so be ready to use Google Translate. They said only one room was left and gave me a key. The old-fashioned lock kept turning the wrong way. When I got in, cockroaches greeted me at the door. I was exhausted and thought I’d try to make it through the night, but the bathroom was infested with 30 or 40 small roaches in the shower and on the soiled toilet seat. I couldn’t stay in that room. It looked old and dim, with a horrible lingering cigarette smell in the curtains and everywhere, covered by a cheap detergent smell that nearly made me throw up. I went back downstairs and sent a message about it using Google Translate. The guy didn’t seem surprised and had no response. A supervisor for the multi agency came over. I showed him the message, and he threw the key to his colleague without an apology, then gave me another room. More problems followed. The key had the same issue, and the smell was still there. There were fewer roaches, but the room was rusty, for lack of a better word. The wall plugs were broken and the wiring exposed. The hair dryer was plugged straight into a wall socket beside the sink, with cables exposed and dangerous. The sheets were stained, the toilet seat was loose, the shower head sprayed all over the hose, the shower door and faucet were broken, and the toilet had no flushing pressure. You’d need a bucket to flush the good stuff. I tried to ignore it, shower quickly, and sleep, though it was already 2:30 am. When I closed the bathroom door after showering, it slammed shut and wouldn’t open. I worried about needing the bathroom overnight with my things stuck inside. I went to reception again. There were no phones in the room, and the language barrier was still a problem. The staff member told me to go back upstairs and said he’d send someone. The person who came couldn’t fix it and told me to wait. He went downstairs, then came back with another room key. I refused to move yet again to another catastrophic room. I found a kitchen knife and, with the maintenance guy beside me, tried to get the handle open. He watched strangely while I unscrewed the knob, and then the door opened. I let the next three hours pass and tried to sleep so I could get out in the morning. Little black spots covered the sheets, so I put a towel on the bed and closed my eyes. A few hours later I woke up and just wanted to pack and leave. Around 7, someone knocked and asked for my “passport,” credit card, and other things I didn’t understand. I told him I’d come down to the lobby soon. It was bizarre, disgusting, and unprofessional. I’m not making this up. If you expect comfort, service, cleanliness, and security, reconsider this place. Check the advertised hotels in that same building too, since they appear to operate under different names but are in the same place. And the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect.

Being near the airport is the only upside. My room was cold, and rain came through the window on the first night. I asked reception for extra blankets, but they never brought any. I also asked several times for toilet paper after mine ran out, and they didn’t care or even come to clean my room. I’d tell anyone reading this not to book here and to save their money.

When I turned on the lights after sleeping, there were five of the biggest bedbugs I’ve ever seen. I had to move to the couch. Things seemed fine when I first came in, but this was crazy. I told the woman at the desk the next day and got neither a refund nor even an apology. If I’d known, I’d have slept on a cold park bench instead. I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to. Apparently lots of other people have made the same complaints.

The room smelled awful and was dirty. I was booked for six nights, but canceled the rest of my stay soon after arriving. They call it five star, but in my opinion it doesn’t even reach two.

The hotel staff only speak Turkish. The place was very dirty, and they didn’t even clean the rooms.
