The WiFi was superb and the room was spacious, but that was about it. The TV was in the worst possible spot, the bed was just okay, and there was a bad smell from the sink, so I plugged the hole with wet tissues. The windows didn't lock, and constant noise came through. Our room was on the third floor at the end of the hall, where the hallway had steps going down. The location was fantastic, with a Masjid and food outlets next door. Staff were good, but the airport shuttle was a big letdown. They wanted cash and hadn't made that clear, even though we'd told them from day one, and again up to two days before checkout, that we needed an airport transfer. The night before checkout I found out the person I'd spoken to was on leave until 9am the next day. Breakfast should have been included. I'd suggest eating out: we ordered fried eggs and were charged extra, though boiled eggs were part of breakfast. We only learned from another resident that soup was included, since staff hadn't told us. I'd read lots of reviews and paid extra based on them, but the stay was average.

I came to Istanbul for the first time and had originally booked the Lionel Hotel through the 18th. I felt misled about the amenities they promised, so I had to leave. At Eyüp Sultan Palace Hotel, everything was spotless from day one, and everything was so perfect that I never needed to call room service. I love the place and would come back and recommend it a million times! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality! 🙏

The location near the tomb af Sayyidina Abu Ayub al-Ansari, Radhiallahu Anhu, is the hotel's one real plus. There aren't many other nearby options, but I'd look for somewhere else next time, maybe an AirBnB. There's also a newer looking 4-star place close by that might be more promising. Apart from the wonderful cleaning lady, who seemed to be working on her own, the staff weren't very friendly. She didn't have a machine dryer and had to air-dry all the linen and towels. The bathroom was quite filthy on closer inspection, especially around the shower, and a terrible smell came from it whenever the AC was on. Breakfast was awful, just tomato and cucumber slices with a little cheese and bread. They also wouldn't give me an invoice for my business stay, and shortly afterward my credit card had suspicious activity that led my bank to cancel it.

The WiFi kept cutting out every five seconds, the water went off, and there was a leak in the room. The room was a tip. They took everything out of it and touched our things without permission, and never changed the sheets. A very shit hotel, awful place. I won't go there again. I'm giving it one star, and I can't lie, it doesn't even deserve that, it should be zero if it were my choice. Never again. Jay Bird is right about everything.

That lovely square nearby makes the location really nice, and the mattress was excellent. The room was tiny, maybe 10 square meters at most. It was cold because the windows weren’t adjusted, and street noise kept me from getting enough sleep.
