Taxim Marin Hotel

The rooms are big, clean, and quiet at night, so you can sleep and relax. I really loved it and would try it again. The location is good, with coffee shops, restaurants, Taksim Square, and Istiklal street all close by. The staff are very friendly, especially the young lady named gundassam.

They charged 100 usd for a rubbish room full of dust, and there was no hot water. They didn’t tell customers there was a water problem at the hotel.

The hotel has beautiful marble floors, it’s very clean, and there’s a lift. The views are great too. Staff were really nice, friendly, and helpful, and the breakfast food was great for a budget bed and breakfast. There’s a good, well-priced restaurant nearby, with a " Yellow Cab " taxi 🚕 rank opposite it. It’s an easy walk from the hotel, near street cafés and restaurants, practically in the middle of Istanbul, give or take. Try learning a little Turkish, it goes a long way and shows respect. The location is very central, close to Taxsim square and shopping stress, but it’s noisy until 2am because of music nearby. Taxis don’t stop right outside, so we had to carry our heavy luggage from a short distance away. The hotel is quiet inside, but the operator was usually unavailable. There were no complimentary water bottles or do not disturb/clean my room tags. Housekeeping would open the room and make the bed without a tag. I was here on a business trip. The rooms are spacious, but the bathroom is cramped, and a shelf above the basin made the tap difficult to use. There’s no mirror in the room except in the bathroom. The breakfast photos shown when booking didn’t match what we got, and breakfast was at another hotel. It was very basic: two slices each of tomato and cucumber, two sweet cakes, one egg, a few breads, jam, and butter, all on one plate. That made me even angrier about breakfast.
